My mom recently celebrated a big birthday – Happy Birthday, Mom! Since we could not celebrate or travel like we normally would have, I wanted to surprise her with something really special. I got my love of entertaining from her, so I thought a surprise dinner would be nice. I set a blue and white tablescape, which included a block print tablecloth, place cards, menus, etched glassware, crystal, silver candelabras, flowers, and topiaries, which I gave her as a gift. I did use everyday dinnerware instead of fine china, since it’s blue and white and went with the theme! She has also always loved flowers and been a longtime member of her garden club, so I got a chinoiserie inspired floral cake. She was completely surprised and so appreciative, but it’s the least I could do for the person who will do anything and everything for all of us. She is the most giving person I know! Love you, Mom!
