I had such fun working on my latest project! It was for a family moving into a new build home in Nashville, which is one of my favorite cities. Their new home has a beautiful, open floor plan and big windows allowing for lots of natural light. They wanted to keep a bright and airy feel, so we went with a neutral color palette of greys and beiges with accents of blue. We kept a balanced mix of clean, modern lines and vintage/rustic style pieces.
The family has 3 young children, so the design needed to be kid friendly. Making a space kid friendly doesn’t have to be difficult. Performance fabric furniture can easily be purchased from places like Pottery Barn, and soft, tufted ottomans are fashionable and functional. We selected a large ottoman with space underneath to keep baskets of toys – realistically there will be toys in the living room, but they don’t have to be an eye sore. Slipper chairs and x-benches are great for additional seating, especially for kids. Here’s a look at some of our selections!
